Where and when are the Face-2-Face Meetings?

A goal of BSW is it to bring people together to play games in "Real Life". This has become, with the increasing number of members on BSW, self perpetuating. Each year many BSW events take place globally. Most are organized by members. A good place to find out about such events is the Forum under "Verabredungen und Treffen". If you wish to arrange your own meeting, then you should advertise there.

Youth hostels

Since BSW is a member of the Deutschen Jugendherbergswerk (German Youth Hostel Association), groups of members from BSW (starting from 4 people, and abroad starting from 10 people) can arrange to stay over night at favourable rates!

You must provide a Group Leader card. You can obtain one from Lucky. Please e-mail to luckyvongeburt@gmx.de if you wish to meet in a hostel.

You can get information about German Youth Hostel reservations and information at http://www.jugendherberge.de. There you find also the current price list (the prices are fixed).

BSW Organized Meetings

Due to the large number of "Real Life" meetings, we cannot participate at them all. There are, however, 2 events which BSW organizes, so that we can meet you there.

Burg Rieneck:

Burg Rieneck

Our largest meeting of the year takes place at Pfadfinderburg Rieneck located between Aschaffenburg and Würzburg. 200 members meets from Thursday to Sunday. There is always room in this youth hostel. The program is always entertaining: whether a soccer game Germany - Austria, a tower run or playing games with the authors - every year, this event is well subscribed.

Costs: approx. 12 - 62 euro, depending upon accommodation and meals.

  • 2009: 20.08.2009 - 23.08.2009
  • 2010: 19.08.2010 - 22.08.2010
  • Registration: this is made via the web about two months before the meeting.
  • Games: bring them along even and well mark them as yours
  • Drinks: reasonably priced drinks are available at the castle. You will need to make a request for them.

Drübberholz:

Drübberholz

Each year we meet near Bremen in Drübberholz. The Spielezentrum Niedersachsen offers an ideal place for game fanatics to meet. Typically we can accomodate 64 people. Groups cater for themselves in the large kitchen. There are so many spaces that an area can be open for all day breakfast! The accomodation is family friendly. Meetings take place from Friday to Sunday and can be extended if there is sufficient demand from the participants.

Cost: ca. 35 Euro (depending on the purchases)

  • Registration: MarieAnne organizes the event in Drübberholz. Exact information for registration is available closer to the event.
  • Games: over 3000 different games are available, therefore, you will only need to bring along games such as Tichu, where there may be demand for several games occuring at the same time.
