You slip into the role of four high-tech civilizations on the edge of the universe.
You will be watched 24/7 by the Council of Shadows, an omniscient council of a superpowerful way of life. The Council of Shadows has made you a special gift: the so-called Dark Tech. It allows you to travel in distant galaxies with multiple speeds of light. In return for this extraordinary technology, however, the Council expects enormous amounts of energy to be harvested on your expeditions in distant solar systems.
This is just a brief summary of the rules and a guide to operation.
The complete rule of Ravensburger (PDF) can be found here.Over several rounds of games, you try to collect so much energy during your journeys to foreign galaxies and by exploiting your actions that you not only cover your consumption, but even overthrow it.
Consider whether you are using powerful actions and take the consequences of a high energy consumption or whether you are trying to achieve the goal with fine and economical tactics.
Game runs over several rounds.
Each round of 3 phases:
In the purchase phase you can execute up to 3 purchases by means of the gems. Buy new handcards or buy improvements on the tableau. 8 cards are always available in the card template. Cards you can buy are bordered green, and you buy them on your hand by pulling them down on your hand.
You apply other extensions and extensions (if they are green) by clicking on them.
Attention: Payment is done automatically and the best choice is made for you, as it is allowed to replace less valuable gems with higher quality.
Through the adaptability for planets you can build colonies on the respective planets:
You can gain additional energy from your gems
You can also extend your range in the action fields. At the beginning you can only be active in the lower third of space (Parsec 1) by extension to Parsec 2/3 you can colonize or throw the higher areas by means of these expanded action fields.
On each action field, you put 1 action card (on other cards is also allowed). You can only close the phase if there is at least one card on each action field.
To put a card you take it out of the hand view and draw it to the desired action field. You are satisfied with your choice choose the arrow.
This phase is executed at the same time, each player has made his selection it continues with Phase 3. The order of the 3rd phase is determined by the consumption of your cards in the action fields. (The highest consumption draws first)
Now the selected actions are executed from top to bottom. The current action card is white bordered and the action to be executed is displayed below. (If you do not want to perform your action in rare cases or you can press the arrow and move forward to the next action.)
Basically, there are various basic actions that you perform (regard to the range of the active action field):
Put cubes on planets. Note the range of the action field and your adaptability for the planet type.
Take yields according to their own colonies. For each colony (= every one of your cubes in this solar system), you can take 1 x the yield of the solar system.
Bringing new solar system into play, then either populate or sneak. A sun system can be discovered by uncovering (clicking) two cards from one of the stacks in the corresponding range and then drawing a selected solar system to a valid place in a galaxy.
Here you will receive the specified amount of precious stones in your stock.
Upgrade gemstone by 1 step. Upgrade is done by clicking on the precious stone to be upgraded.
At the end of the phase, your cards will be moved down a field of action. The maps that were located at the bottom are then available as hand maps.
Each galaxy, in which at least 1 is its own colony, can be worth a maximum of 1 x.
Some galaxies randomly give you a bonus card that still gives energy at the end of the game.
The cube used for valuing is removed.
If you reach or overtake your energy, you will increase by 1 Dark Tech level and your energy will be reduced by the consumption value.
Ascend to Dark Tech levels 1 and 2, you will receive a Dark Tech bonus. You choose the bonus by taking it and pulling it to the bottom.
If a player reaches the 3rd Dark Tech-Level, he's enlisting the gamer. The current round will be played to the end and the final score will be completed.
Now each player receives energy for:
You can get more Dark Tech levels in which you reach your value.
Who has the highest Dark Tech level wins. At the same time, who has even more energy counts. If there are similarities, the player wins with most Cubes on the schedule.
And now a lot of fun in colonizing space.
