The best and most successful game of the last ten years is undoubtedly called settlers! The game, to which there are countless extensions and variants, triggered a boom in 1995 on the board game market in Germany - and later in the world - that continues until today. Each player tries to reach ten points as quickly as possible. This is mainly due to the construction of settlements and cities. The more a player builds, the more raw material revenue he gets. It then needs this again for the construction of other buildings. An important component of this game is the exchange of raw materials. This ensures that all players are always involved in the game, even if they are not in the row.

Since 1999, there are German Championships in settlers of Catan and since March 2001 there is an online world ranking list.
